This clinic is run by our midwife usually on about 3 sessions per week. If you become pregnant, you will be given a ‘booking appointment’ at which the midwife will ask you a few questions and carry out some general health checks. You will be seen regularly throughout your pregnancy either at the practice or at the local hospital, or both.
Led by our nursing team, clinics offer advice and support from nurses who specialise in asthma care. Details of clinic appointment times are available from reception.
Smears are usually taken by nurses in the Treatment Room. Details of appointment times are available from reception.
All new babies are invited for regular check-ups from six weeks old. Appointments for baby and pre-school immunisations are usually given for a Thursday morning.
In these clinics our Nurses undertake wound dressings and assessments. By GP referral only they can also advise and treat long term chronic skin conditions e.g. eczema, psoriasis. Appointments are usually given for a Monday afternoon or Thursday afternoon.
Led by our nursing team, clinics offer advice and general health check-ups to patients diagnosed with diabetes. Details of clinic appointment times are available from reception.
Our GP’s can undertake minor operations in our operating suite. Please discuss this with your doctor who will then arrange for you to be given an appointment. The NHS has strict guidelines regarding clinical necessity; and cosmetic surgery is not generally available.
Dr Pawlik runs a family planning clinic on most Monday afternoons for the insertion and removal of contraceptive implants and intrauterine contraceptive devices (coils). For more information, please make an appointment with a GP or nurse to discuss your options.
The ‘Changing Minds Wellbeing Teams' provide an innovative and person centered service for individuals in Northamptonshire, who may be at risk of or who are experiencing a period of mental distress. Laura is usually in our surgery on Mondays and Thursdays, and referral to her is through the nurse practitioner or doctor.
You will be requested to complete a form and may need to discuss your travel arrangements with a practice nurse prior to making an appointment for the vaccination. Please enquire at least 10 weeks before travelling. The provision of this service may attract a charge.
You'll be invited for a free NHS Health Check every 5 years if you're between 40 and 74 years of age and do not already have heart disease, stroke, diabetes, kidney disease or high blood pressure.

If you require a specific service please feel free to ask if it is one that is commissioned or provided privately e.g. medical reports.
As well as our practice, there are many other local NHS services you can contact for health advice, information or treatment. Before you do, remember that you can treat many minor ailments such as colds, coughs and indigestion by keeping a well-stocked medicine cabinet at home. We suggest you keep the following:
111 offers free expert health information and advice 24-hours a day by calling 111. If English is not your preferred language, you can choose to use a confidential translation service.
Your local pharmacist will be able to give you free health advice at any time – you don’t need an appointment. Many pharmacies operate extended hours on a rota basis.

If you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel you need to make an contact with the practice nurse to discuss your travel arrangements. This will include which countries and areas within countries that you are visiting to determine what vaccinations are required.
There is further information about countries and vaccinations required on the links below
It is important to make this initial contact as early as possible - preferably 10 weeks before you travel - as an appointment will be required with the practice nurse to actually receive the vaccinations. These vaccines have to be ordered as they are not a stock vaccine. Your appointment needs to be at least 4 weeks before you travel to allow the vaccines to work.
For travel within 4 weeks – we will be unable to assist and you should approach MASTA 0330 100 4268
Some travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription and these incur a charge over and above the normal prescription charge. This is because not all travel vaccinations are included in the services provided by the NHS.

To help us offer the appropriate advice, please fill out the form below and send to the surgery.
Here's a checklist of the vaccines that are routinely offered to everyone in the UK for free on the NHS, and the age at which you should ideally have them.
** Where two or more injections are required at once, these should ideally be given in different limbs. Where this is not possible, injections in the same limb should be given 2.5cm apart.
